At BK5B 12:30pm today, an old man in an old silver Nissan Sunny (No. Plate BDX I think) frantically signaled us to stop our car. He winded down his window and said he is a contractor in this area and his wife just got into an accident.

He does not have enough petrol to get back home so he asked if we could give him some money. He started to cry and I could see his arm was covered with construction dust.

I asked if RM5 will do, but he said hometown is quite far (didn't catch the town name, starts with S) and wanted RM10. So we gave him RM10 for the benefit of doubt.

Dunno if this is all wayang or not but if you come across the same scenario, you'll know that this guy is a conman.

He was a regular in Bk3 until one day (at least 3 years ago) he tried the trick on me .... me & my neighbour threatened to beat him up & call the polis.  That was the last time we saw his old Nissan junk.  He had tried the trick so many many many times around this area already.  He looked like an honest contractor (with white paint stained on himself) & sure his white hair has grown whiter by now.   ;)  His usual line was he lost his wallet while doing work around this area & need to go home (somewhere far).

Looks like I lost RM10 to a conman. If he didn't cry, I wouldn't have given him but his acting skills was well deserved :)

Thanks for the confirmation, puff.

The main indication that he was a conman was when I offered RM5 but he asked for RM10.

I also found it rather odd that his car was approaching us from the hillslope end, like he had ronda there and made his way down, unless he was renovating a house nearby.

With petrol price up, I wonder if he can continue to make a profit. No wonder he's driving the fuel efficient Sunny!

yesterday i was lucky enuf to see this infamous nissan sunny old man.
he didn't cry , but his expression was so dramatic.
he stopped our car, my husband was listening to him telling story。
I din pay attention as i've read this thread before.
looking at him telling story without having the intention to stop, i hurried my husband to leave.
i think he knew he is getting famous around this area and therefore he left without saying a word when i urge my husband to just leave.  :D

Hmm I wanna do something evil to him if I ever see him again  ::)

The least evil thing I could do is just follow him and see where he goes ..

Woa.. this good-acting old man is really famous..
Oh btw, after donating money to his drama acting + added spice (said his wife in hospital with a broken leg and the sort), we saw him the same day at a Puchong hawker center.. and found out his wife's leg wasn't broken and was selling wantan mee at that hawker stall. This uncle really kena kantoi kuat-kuat..

Wow. It's been 3 years since this thread had started and this old man is still in business?

@danieltkm: which Puchong hawker center might this be? The only 2 hawker centers that I can think of are Everyday Food Court and the Puchong Jaya Food Center (where the Kek Tak Theng Vegetarian Economy Rice seller is located).

Well, it was actually 2008 when we encountered this old man. He really spoiled the market for genuine old people who really lost their wallet and need the money.
But a quick search on google map.. it's Latitude 3° 2'10.91"N and longitude 101°37'4.87"E
It's the corner shop. The infamous nissan sunny shouldn't be too hard to spot.

Hmmm... seems like this old man relocated to KOK Kopitiam (the coffeeshop near Tesco). Don't see his car but the man who sells the wantan mee at KOK really looks like him. In fact, I dare to vouch that it IS him. Just that, I don't see his infamous Nissan Sunny.

I only noticed him after ordering a plate of wantan mee from the stall, which by the way, really sucked. How anyone can make lousy wantan mee, I cannot imagine. It's arguably one of the "easiest" hawker dishes to make....

So he finally made enough money to set up his own food stall...
