Has anybody notice that recently there were a few police horses patrolling around bk5 area? Heard that a few residents were talking about it. Is it true?

Interesting.... what would they do if their horses decide to drop their manure along the way.  ;D

I do not think they are effective as shown in the picture below !

They will be more effective if they really do their patrolling on Iron Horses !

Haven't even discuss its effectiveness peoples already start talking on problem that it will bring to our community !

I have seen these mounted police at Sunway Damansara, and they stand out due to the height of their horses.

I suppose their presence may help deter crime somewhat, but perhaps not the most effective mode.  The real test of effectiveness I guess, is to see them in real life action when something happens.

Anyway, a real hardcore criminal will choose the place and time as well as situation where they have the advantage.  I think they will anytime chose a place where there are no police, mounted or not mounted. Just like two houses, one with alarm box outside, the other one without side by side. I guess the possibility is higher for the one without to be broken in.

I think they're just practicing. It doesn't make sense to patrol a housing area with horses, mounted police are mostly for pedestrian areas eg. Jalan Tuanku on weekends.
